Although a parade will not go ahead this year in Cavan Town, communities elsewhere in the Breffni county are gearing up to celebrate in a style bigger and better than ever before.

ESB say "almost all" customers in Cavan impacted by weather-related outages have had their power restored.

According to ESB Networks 650 customers in Ballyconnell and 750 in Killeshandra are without power this morning.

In total, 26 towns across the country were designated as Town Centre First plans by Minister Humphreys.

As a result of being among the winning groups, the school received a fantastic cash prize of €1,000.

The lack of taxis in Killeshandra and other parts of Cavan is affecting the hospitality trade and leaves it difficult for local people to get to doctor or hospital appointments.

The Crowdfunder page set up in her memory is to raise money for her former workplace and also towards the cost of the church fees for her burial and a memorial.
