Killeshendra Tidy Towns Heritage Group was awarded €18,000 in funding recently.
The allocation was granted under Heritage Council schemes.
It will provide for "urgent work" to be carried out on a mausoleum set with the Jacobean church and graveyard.
Heather Brothwell of Killeshandra Tidy Towns, said the entire community was determined to bring the project to fruition.
She said it is important to remember the "great craftsmanship" that went into the buildings there.
It is something that must be respected, she added.
