Members of the Killeevan National School Jubilee Committee have organised a fundraising initiative to coincide with the school's 50 year anniversary. The campaign was launched to raise essential funds for the school's development and to complete much-needed upgrades that will serve the community for many more years to come. The launch of the fundraising campaign was marked by a gathering of a number of the Jubilee’s committee members, who came together to recognise the school’s history and its bright future. Patrick O'Donnell is a member of the Jubilee Committee. Speaking to Northern Sound, he believes this significant initiative highlights the community’s dedication to supporting the school’s legacy. He went on to encourage everyone who has been a part of Killeevan National School since 1974 to give as generously as they can to this fundraiser.
"To mark our Golden Jubilee, we invite all current and past pupils, along with their families and the broader community, to join us in celebrating this milestone on September 28th," he explained. "The festivities will commence at 3:00 PM with a special mass in Killeevan Chapel, followed by an afternoon of food, entertainment, and reminiscing on the school grounds. This is a free event, and we warmly encourage everyone to come together to honour the history of Killeevan National School.
