A Kingscourt bar has shared the plight of a Kilkenny man who's walking to Armagh for a pint.
From today, pubs and bars in Northern Ireland can welcome customers back as indoor hospitality restarts.
Luke from Kilkenny set off from home on Thursday with the aim of making the border for a drink by the time Covid restrictions eased.
As part of his pilgrimage, he stopped in at the Wishing Well Bar in Kingscourt yesterday to charge his phone and get a cup of coffee.
In a video posted on Facebook, staff there explained Luke's situation, and appealed to pubs in Northern Ireland to have a drink ready and waiting:
“Luke the Legend” as he is now known as in the area, finally got his pint of Guinness in south Armagh today, according to the bar staff.
Ash McMahon from The Wishing Well posted the video online and she told Northern Sound News that she's been in contact with him since to ensure he got what he came for.
