Kelly's distraught mother said the programme brought forward fresh information from the public but, most are unwilling to put their accounts on record.

A recent documentary about the death of Kelly Lynch in Monaghan Town last year has garnered some new information for investigating gardaí. The BBC Spotlight programme called "Kelly - The Body Below the Bridge" was broadcast on two nights in November.

It featured Kelly's parents, Julieanne and Sean Lynch, as they tried to piece together their 23-year-old daughter's final hours and what led to the discovery of her body at the Ulster Canal on St. Patrick's Day last year. Her parents fear the original investigation into their daughter's death was flawed. Taking their concerns on board, Garda Commissioner Drew Harris ordered a peer review of the original investigation, which remained open and is still ongoing.

Kelly's distraught mother said the programme did bring forward fresh information from the public but, most are unwilling to put their accounts on record. In an interview, which can be found in the podcast section of this website, Julieanne Lynch, asks those with information to put her family "out of their misery". She reminds people they can even do so anonymously:
