The Justice Minister says she “utterly condemns” all threats made to politicians.
Leitrim Sinn Fein TD Martin Kenny’s Leinster House office received a phone call yesterday morning which made threats against him and the Gardaí.
The incident took place two years after he had his car burnt out in an arson attack.
Deputy Kenny has since called for better safety and security protocols to prevent future incidents.
In a statement to Northern Sound News, interim Justice Minister Heather Humphreys said Gardaí are investigating this incident and so it would be inappropriate for her to comment on it.
However, on the broader point, it was said that Minister Humphreys “utterly condemns” all threats made to members of the Gardaí, to elected representatives and their staff.
