Two Gardaí remain in hospital this morning after an armed siege in Blanchardstown in West Dublin.
They were injured in the foot and hand after shots were fired at them in the Whitechapel Grove housing estate.
A man in his 30s surrendered to Gardaí following over two hours of negotiations and has been arrested.
A number of houses had to be evacuated during the standoff.
Local Garda Superintendent Peter Burke has said children were playing football nearby when the gunfire began.
