Just one local electoral area in Cavan and Monaghan has a Covid-19 incidence rate above the national average.
In the two weeks up to Monday, the rate of infection in Ireland was 245.8 cases per 100,000 population.
There were 72 confirmed cases in the Monaghan LEA in the last fortnight, giving it an incidence rate 317 cases per 100,000 population – the highest rate in the region.
The Bailieborough-Cootehill area is next with an incidence rate of 229, and 56 confirmed cases.
Ballyjamesduff LEA and Cavan-Belturbet have incidence rates of 209 and 165 cases per 100,000 population respectively.
The rate in Ballybay-Clones is 144.9, while Carrickmacross-Castleblayney has the lowest rate locally at 130. There were just 28 confirmed cases there in the last fortnight.
The Carndonagh area of Donegal has the highest incidence rate in the country, where almost one-in-fifty people were infected in the last fourteen days.
