The Minister of State at the Department of Transport is the Northern Sound region today.
James Lawless is meeting with councillors from both Cavan and Monaghan to discuss several transport issues.
Last night the minister met with Monaghan councillors along with Senator Robbie Gallagher, with the N2 and road safety measures to the fore of discussions. The Minister of State will visit Cavan this afternoon to discuss the likes of the N3 Virginia by-pass, roads funding and the school bus saga that has been felt since the beginning of the school term.
Along with meeting Cavan councillors, he will also be meeting Deputy Niamh Smyth and Deputy Brendan Smith. Speaking to Northern Sound, Minister Lawless said that the condition of the local roads were a major issue ahead of the local elections and that will be the case ahead of the General Election also.
