Ivana Bacik is the favourite to become the next leader of the Labour Party.
Alan Kelly resigned last night after accepting that his parliamentary party no longer had confidence in him.
Ray Kavanagh is a former General Secretary of the Labour Party, he's horrified and says the move is at odds with the party's grassroots members who voted for Alan Kelly only two years ago.
Meanwhile, in an emotional farewell speech last night, Mr Kelly thanked his party members, staff, family and friends.
“I was advised by my parliamentary colleagues on Tuesday morning that they had lost confidence in my leadership,£" he added.
“It was a surprise to me.
"Becoming leader of the Labour Party was the best political day of my life."
