Irish Water says it's "working as quickly as possible" to restore water to Co Cavan households affected by a power outage.
Customers supplied by Doobally Water Supply Scheme have been impacted by the power outage at the water treatment plant.
The outage is disrupting water supply to homes in Dowra and surrounding areas.
Dedicated water service crews have mobilised and water is being tankered to Dowra reservoir.
This tankering should restore water to the town by 9 pm this evening.
Following power restoration, it's expected that normal service will be restored to Dowra from Doobally Group Water Scheme by tomorrow morning.
Irish Water says it "understands the inconvenience unplanned outages can have on customers".
