Investigations have been launched following the death of a Roscommon man at Loughrea Cattle Mart over the weekend.
60 year old Mike McGloughlin from Curraghboy was pronounced dead at University Hospital Galway after he was injured in an incident with an animal on Saturday afternoon.
It's reported that a bull jumped from the ring into the crowd during a cattle show and sale in the East Galway Town, fatally injuring the Roscommon man.
Gardaí in Loughrea and the Health Safety Authority are investigating the incident.
Local Councillor Laurence Fallon says the community in Curraghboy and further afield are in shock.
