Gardaí in Bailieborough are investigating a number of burglaries which occurred within a short time period of each other across the district. According to Garda Lisa Stevens, it is important for anyone with information to come forward. The first burglary occurred in Relaghbeg on the 2nd of August between 10:30 and 11:55am. The homeowner was out and returned to find the house ransacked. A sum of cash was taken and also a gold men's watch.
The second burglary which Gardaí in Bailieborough are investigating occurred yet again on the 2nd of August in Shercock between 12 midday and 1:30pm. The property was vacant for only a short time when the culprits struck to force entry and ransack the house. A substantial amount of cash was stolen during the course of this burglary. A third burglary also took place within the Shercock area between 2pm and 2.30pm. Two masked raiders entered a property and made off with a sum of cash. Elsewhere, a burglary took place in Ballinagh on the 2nf of August, between 12.30pm and 2pm, According to Gardaí a house was broken into and ransacked. A large quantity of jewellery was taken during the course of this burglary which is of huge sentiment in value to the owner.
Finally, Gardaí in Belturbet are investigating a burglary which occurred Belturbet on the 2nd of August between 3pm and 4pm at a vacant property. Guardians of the property observed a suspicious vehicle close by which fled as they approached. Culprits did not gain anything from their efforts. Anyone with any information in relation to these incidents are asked to make contact with Gardaí, or who may have overserved a grey Audi TT at any of the locations outlined.
