Detectives in Co Fermanagh are appealing for information and witnesses following an assault at a licensed premises in Enniskillen. The incident took place at the Townhall Street area of the town in the early hours of Saturday morning, 8th April.
[In a statement issued to Northern Sound, Detective Sergeant Dougherty revealed that just after midnight, police received a report that a man in his 30s had been assaulted with a glass following an altercation.
He was taken to hospital where he received treatment for facial injuries. These included serious lacerations which required a number of stitches. Shortly afterwards, police arrested a 45-year-old man on suspicion of a number of offences including wounding with intent to commit grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon.
He remains in custody at this time and is due to appear again by video-link at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on April 24. Police say they are are keen to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity at the time of the assault, who witnessed it take place or who may have mobile phone or other footage that they believe may be of value to our investigation, to contact them.
