Monaghan Gardai are continuing to investigate a fatal collision in Clones that occurred earlier this month.
Gardaí have confirmed to Northern Sound News that the investigation into the collision that resulted in a woman in her 70s being struck is an ongoing investigation.
Elizabeth Betty McGoldrick from Clonavilla in Clones lost her life in the fatal collision as the investigation into her death continues.
An incident room has been set up and an investigating officer has been appointed in relation to this collision that occurred in Clonavilla, Clones at 10.45pm on Saturday the 8th of April.
Chief superintendent Pat O’Connell has reminded the public that speculation and rumours do not help anyone with this investigation.
He says that a family liaison officer is dealing with the bereaved family at this time.
