Gardaí are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the discovery of two bodies on two separate days last week in Monaghan Town.
The body of a woman, aged in her 20s, was found in the Ulster canal in Monaghan Town around 8.30am on Sunday March 17th.
While the body of a man also aged in his 20s was found along a laneway on the outskirts of the town just before 8am on Wednesday March 13th. In a statement issued to Northern Sound, Gardai say that the post-mortem examinations has been carried out on both bodies, and initial findings have been relayed to investigating Gardaí.
Gardai now say the focus of both investigations will now shift towards compiling a file for the Coroner.
