A delegation from the Glaslough Tidy Towns group and Monaghan County Council have returned home this lunchtime after being crowned International Communities in bloom winners in Canada over the weekend.
The winning group returned to Dublin Airport and was met by local Minister Heather Humphreys.
Sean Conlon Cathaoirleach of Monaghan County Council has welcomed the achievement that has been bestowed on the village.
The Sinn Fein Councillor says the completion was externally high from other European countries.
He said that the competition was a great learning exercise to see what other countries do across Europe.
