Inland Fisheries Ireland has been called on to ensure there are no more fish kills in Co Cavan.
More than 350 brown trout were killed following an incident at Killycreaney Bridge on the Dromore River in Cavan on Sunday evening.
Water and fish samples were taken from the river for analysis and staff from IFI are carrying out further assessments.
Ronan Murray, from the Irish Pike Fishing Guides, says it's unlikely the event is weather-related and added that IFI needs to discover the cause so that it doesn't happen again.
