Industrial action to be resumed across local authorities

Industrial action will be resumed in local authorities in a row over the establishment of a job evaluation scheme. Earlier this month, planned action was suspended to allow for talks with the Local Government Management Agency.

However, those talks at the Workplace Relations Commission broke down yesterday, with Forsa accusing the LGMA of failing to engage meaningfully with the union. Forsa has accused the LGMA of 'undermining the process', adding that it has 'lost all trust' that management want to negotiate a resolution.
