Incidents of cold-calling reported in Co Monaghan

Gardaí have issued a warning to the public over reports of fraudulent behaviour in Co Monaghan.

A group of men have been calling to houses offering to tarmac driveways or yards for a cut down price. Once the job is complete the perpetrators are charging extortionate prices in what Gardai have called is a scam operation.

According to Gardaí, a number of these cold-calling incidents have occurred in Monaghan over the last 48 hours. Local Gardai say these individuals appear professional with their clothing and vehicles offering special offers and prices.

Monaghan Gardai have appealed if any sightings or interactions with these individuals to immediately contact Monaghan Garda Station on 047 77200.
