The IFA says local farmers impacted by bird flu outbreaks must be compensated.
Six outbreaks were detected in Irish poultry farms between November and December of 2021, and all within Cavan and Monaghan.
It's estimated that 200,000 birds were culled as a result.

The IFA's new Poultry Chairman, Nigel Sweetman says the heightened biosecurity measures taken by local farmers was key to stopping further outbreaks.
He told Shannonside Northern Sound that the farmers who lost birds can't be forgotten.
