The first of the IFA debates to elect the new chair of the Ulster-North Leinster region got underway last night.
The representation of farmers in the media, and the need to encourage more young people to work in the sector were among the main issues highlighted at the event in Cavan.
Moderated by Cavan IFA Chair, Elizabeth Ormiston, Frank Brady and John Curran had the opportunity to address members and make a case for why they should be elected.
A similar event is taking place in Longford this evening, as they both seek to win votes to suceed outgoing chair Nigel Renaghan.
Speaking after the Cavan debate, the two candidates said more needs to be done to have the work of local farmers recognised.

Frank Brady also spoke to Aaron in greater detail.
