Local IFA members have burned TB Herd Risk letters outside the Department of Agriculture offices in Cavan town.
In recent weeks, farmers have been receiving letters detailing the history of TB within their herd, and advice on how to fight the spread.
However, it's claimed this will devalue livestock and is a breach of GDPR because it contains information on herds a farmer has previously bought from.
Senior members of the Irish Farmers' Association in Cavan and Monaghan destroyed letters this afternoon in protest of their circulation.
Maurice Brady, IFA's Animal Health Committee Representative in Cavan told Northern Sound News the letters are unjustified.
