The ICMSA Deputy President from Cavan says there will be major difficulties when it comes to milk processing if there is a no deal Brexit.
Lorcan McCabe says that the processing capacity in Northern Ireland is only 60% so a lot of that work is done over the border, which would cause problems if a deal isn't found.
While products using Northern Irish milk would be allowed into the EU, other markets such as Asia, and Nigeria, which are huge baby formula and powder markets, wouldn't allow the non-EU product.
Mr.McCabe says this causes major issues in terms of segregation for plants here, in addition to the issues they will face, regardless of the outcome in relation to checks, and the inevitable land bridge delays.
Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound he stated that segregation of product is almost impossible:
