Cllr Patricia Walsh has been elected Cathaoirleach of the Cavan-Belturbet Municipal District following the AGM.
Cllr Madeleine Argue will serve as Leas-Cathaoirleach.
Both ladies were proposed and seconded by Cllrs Seán Smith and Cllr John Paul Feeley, respectively.
Meanwhile, Cllr Walsh said she was "honoured" to represent the people of Cavan.
Speaking to Northern Sound she said she was determined to continue working alongside her colleagues on the MD to ensure the delivery of services for everyone.
It is necessary now, she added, that we all work together for the betterment of Cavan.
"I want to thank everyone for their support," Cllr Walsh continued.
"It is an honour for me to represent the people of Cavan.
"I will work hard to ensure the continuation of services for everyone."
