The first Corpus Christi Procession in over 50 years took place last Sunday week in Bawnboy, with a huge crowd in attendance.
People from right across the region and further afield travelled to be a part of the historic event which parish priest Father Sean Maguire hopes becomes an annual event in the area.
The celebration procession left from St Mogue's Church and travelled into Bawnboy village, led by Altar Servers and followed by young children dressed in their First Holy Communion clothes scattering flower petals along the route.
Speaking to Northern Sound News, Cavan native and parish priest Father Sean Maguire says it was a celebratory event that brought the community together.
Father Maguire says it was a great event for people of all ages after a five decade hiatus.
