IFA's Ulster/North Leinster Chairman, Frank Brady, has confirmed that the organisation's regional officers in the Northern part of the country have been targeted by what has been described as a "sinister campaign" that has emerged in recent days.
Mr Brady said the tone and nature of the messages being sent - as part of the campaign - are unacceptable.
He also highlighted how the situation has only served to break the trust of IFA members.
He added that members were worried about this latest development.
But he also pointed out that they were more concerned about the price of commodities and the rising costs that farmers are now facing.
"Lots of people can feel aggrieved that the IFA hasn't done this and hasn't done that," continued Mr Brady.
"Some of it is accurate, some of it isn't accurate.
"Going forward, it is sad because all of us are voluntary.
"We leave our phone numbers out there so that we can help people, not for monetary gain.
"And whoever is doing this has broken the trust of a lot of people in IFA."
