Local TD Brendan Smith has confirmed to Northern Sound that he has received confirmation from the HSE this evening that they will be readvertising for a permanent GP post in Swanlinbar.
He said that the post will be advertised by the HSE in the coming weeks.
The Cavan Monaghan TD has welcomed the announcement, highlighting the plight by locals over a number of weeks to save the GP services in the area.

The news follows patients and local representatives from the area travelling to meet with the Health Minister Stephen Donnelly in the Dail last week.
