The HSE says five residential places will be provided when the Group Home in Carrickmacross opens.
The long-delayed facility is expected to open in the second half of this year as the HSE says funding has been provided.
The facility for people with physical and sensory disabilities was first announced in 2006 and construction began in 2017 but a number of issues in relation to funding and snag lists means it still remains closed.
The centre had also been announced as opening in 2019 but this never materialised.
The HSE says €600,000 has been allocated to disability services in Cavan, Monaghan, Leitrim, Sligo and Donegal this year for "an additional residential service" in the area and this "will be used to support the opening" the Oriel Group Home.
It says full year funding will be required in the 2022 budget allocation.
