The HSE has confirmed a recruitment campaign is in progress to secure a permanent GP to replace Dr Smyth.

The HSE hopes to have a replacement in place for a Monaghan GP when she retires in two months' time.

The executive has responded to Senator Robbie Gallagher regarding a query over the replacement of Monaghan Town GP Marian Smyth, who will quit on August 23rd.

The HSE has confirmed a recruitment campaign is in progress to secure a permanent GP to replace Dr Smyth.

Senator Gallagher says he hopes this is done swiftly.
