The HSE is currently considering the possible approval of a large-scale vaccination centre in Cavan or Monaghan.
A spokesperson told Northern Sound that a number of third-party facilities in the region are currently being investigated to be used to administer doses, when the vaccination programme advances.
These include sports halls, third level colleges, hotels and conference centres.
It's expected that chosen locations will be approved, finalised and announced in the coming weeks.
The Head of the HSE Paul Reid said last week that he expects around 40 vaccination centres will be set up across the country.
Covid testing is currently carried out at two locations locally, the health centre in Ballinagh and at the Monaghan GAA grounds at Cloghan.
Another testing centre had previously operated at Kingspan Breffni in Cavan town.
