The HSE has confirmed that day care services for older people that were paused in Cavan because of Covid-19 restrictions will resume shortly.
The health authority says that refurbishment works currently underway in the day care building adjacent to the John Sullivan Home, will be completed by the end of the year.
The Alzheimers Society will subsequently re-open its Dementia Day Care two days per week. Social Day Care Services for older persons aged 65 and over, including those with a diagnosis of Dementia, will reopen for the other three days of the week by end of January 2023.
Meanwhile, the HSE directly provides day care, and arrangements are in place to provide some funding to voluntary organisations that have such services.
