According to the HSE's Department of Public Health, counties Cavan and Monaghan have seen an "increase" in Covid cases across the region in recent weeks.
As a result, the HSE is "urging" people who are eligible for a Covid-19 vaccine or a booster and who have not yet received it to "get their vaccine."
In a statement to Northern Sound, Dr Deirdre Mulholland, Area Director of Public Health says the incidence rates of Covid-19 are increasing again in our general population - including amongst the elderly.
She believes it is "important" for people aged 65 and older and those who are aged 12 years and older with a weak immune system to get their "second booster vaccine."
Dr Mullholland added that "every action" locals take to protect themselves and those around them to keep cases down, can help communities "stay safe."
