The HSE has again confirmed that Carrickmacross Group Home will be operational by the end of the year.
The long-awaited project has been beset by delays since it was first announced in 2006.
Fianna Fáil's Robbie Gallagher says he has been informed that minor works are nearing completion and a HSE Estates Manager will soon conduct a site visit to confirm a completion date.
It's also been confirmed that the building will be able to house five residents with physical and sensory disabilities.
There is also provision for two rooms which will be used to accommodate staff who will provide 24-hour support.
The centre had been planned to open in 2019 but this never came to pass.
