The HSE is advising that children in Cavan and Monaghan get a Covid-19 vaccine this winter season.
The National Immunisation Advisory Committee recommends vaccines for children aged six months to four years, who have a health condition that puts them at risk of severe illness if they get Covid-19.
The NIAC advises the benefits of the vaccine for this group of children "are greater than the risks from the vaccine".
A clinic will be held in each Cavan and Monaghan after Christmas.
Parents and carers of children aged six months to four years area asked to bring them along to the community vaccination centre at St. Davnet's Campus, Monaghan between 10am and 11am on Wednesday, 27th December.
Vaccinations for Monaghan children aged from five to 11 years are available on the same day from 11am to 12pm.
And, in Cavan, on Thursday, 4th January at the Ballinagh Health Centre children aged between six months and four years will be vaccinated between 1pm and 2pm while older children aged up to 12 years will be seen from 2pm to 3pm.
They will need two doses of the vaccine for the best possible protection against COVID-19. Children will get their second dose eight weeks after the first dose.
