Another housing development in Virigina has been put on hold because of concerns over wastewater infrastructure.
Planning permission had been sought to construct four more houses in the Rampart View estate in the town.
Conditional approval was given by Cavan County Council, but was appealed by Inland Fisheries Ireland.
In its submission on the original application, the state agency raised concern over the capacity to the waste water treatment plant in Virginia, and delays in upgrading the facility.
In June, An Bord Pleanála overturned a similar decision that looked to build eight new houses in the town.
A ruling the latest appeal is due in November.
