The price of buying a home across the country last year rose by 9 per cent.
That's the finding of the latest report from property website Daft.ie Locally, house prices are up 10 per cent in Cavan and 7 per cent in Monaghan. A home in Monaghan now costs on average €230,000, 30% above the level seen at the start of the covid19 pandemic.
While in Cavan the cost of the average house price stands at €239,000, 58% above the level seen in 2020 also. Nationally the average cost of buying a home stood at just over €332,000 - while in the Capital, it was almost €700,000. The number of second-hand homes available to buy nationwide on December 1st stood at less than 10,500, down 15% year-on-year and the lowest total ever recorded in a series extending back to January 2007.
