The average price of second-hand homes in Cavan and Monaghan continues to rise. The latest quarterly Daft.ie report now has the average price of a home in Monaghan at €247,000 and €228,000 in Cavan. Compared to this time last year, those prices mark increases of 9 and 6 per cent in the respective locations.
The midpoint average price of a newly-built home in Monaghan is now at €315,000 and €269,501 in Cavan. Prices were up 6.1 per cent in Connaught-Ulster while in Munster the increase is 10.4 per cent and in Galway and L:imerick cities the increase was almost double that of the Northern Sound region at 12 per cent.
The report says Ulster bucks the trend for the rest of the country as inflation shows signs of "cooling slightly" in the housing market here.
