House prices fall in Monaghan according to new report

The average price of a second-hand, three-bed semi in County Monaghan fell by 2.4% at a cost of 200,000 euros.

Monaghan was the only county in the country to see house prices fall in the first three months of 2023.

That's according to a new report that has been published today by a survey carried out by Real Estate Alliance.

The average price of a second-hand, three-bed semi in County Monaghan fell by 2.4% at a cost of 200,000 euros.

In Longford the average price of a three-bed semi stands out at 169,000 euros at a rise of 2.4% while in Roscommon the average price also rose by 2.4% meaning a 3 bed semi-detached property will cost 210,00 euros in the county of Roscommon. 171,500 euros is the average price for a 3 bed semi in Leitrim which is a rise of 1.2% over the same period of the first three months of this year.

While the county of Cavan the three bed semi home values in the county remained at €168,500 during the first three months of 2023 with no change over quarter one of the year.

Auctioneer Dermot Conlon from REA Gunne Property in Carrickmacross says the housing market has cooled off somewhat right across the Northern Sound region.
