'The continuing crisis at our hospitals is not acceptable and will not be tolerated'.
That's according to Cavan Cllr, Sarah O'Reilly who was one of dozens of people who gathered outside Cavan and Monaghan hospitals yesterday as part of the 'Day of Action Against Hospital Overcrowding'
Both local protests started with a minute's silence for people who have died because of overcrowding at Emergency Departments across the country.
During yesterday's proceedings, Cllr O'Reilly called for smaller hospitals to be resourced so that "much-needed capacity" can be achieved.
She added that fair pay, terms, and working conditions must also be provided to frontline staff working in the HSE.
