There's a 'great hunger' in Monaghan to do more to promote women getting involved in politics.
The county's new Women's Assembly launched last night with the aim of raising awareness of the barriers to political participation for women.
Over 200 people attended the online event, which was launched by local Minister Heather Humphreys.
The assembly hopes to hold regular meetings, starting this summer, with the overall aim of increasing the participation of women in the 2024 local elections.
