Tomorrow sees an historic rugby fixture taking place at Kingspan Breffni, as the home of Cavan GAA hosts a pre-season meeting between Ulster and Glasgow Warriors. It is a significant fixture as it will be the first time for a rugby game to be played at the Gaelic ground and also a first for the senior Ulster side to play outside of the 6 counties in the province.
Eddie Cooke a coach from County Cavan Rugby club says there is great excitement locally in anticipation of the game. He says the significance of this weekend's event can't be understated because the six clubs involved, come from a traditional GAA background.
Eddie added that it's also a "huge honour" for Cavan Rugby Club to host the game. "What I'm hoping happens this weekend is that we have a load of people coming down from the six counties; I'd love to see a load of people come down from Belfast to watch the game in Cavan and embrace what is the community spirit," he continued.
"In fact, I hope we can showcase the fact that we have two teams going head-to-head knocking lumps out of each other and as soon as the game is finished, they'll put their arms around each other."
