A new HIQA report has shown that Cavan/Monaghan was majorly non-compliant when it came to safeguarding and child protection.
HIQA has published an overview report of the inspection of Tusla's foster care services in 2019 and 2020 focusing on compliance with six national standards from inspections of all 17 service areas.
The Cavan/Monaghan area only achieved full compliance when it came to the Preparation for leaving care and adult life.
Their major non-compliance in child protection means that not all allegations made by children in care were investigated and safety planning was not adequate
