Met Éireann says the strongest winds recorded in the Northern Sound region during storm Éowyn was 115 km or 71 miles p/hr. The highest 10-minute mean wind speed reached 37 knots or 68.5 kilometres per hour.
Last week, the national forecaster released data for across the country. The highest gust was 184km/h in County Galway and County Donegal, with sustained 10 minute average speeds maxing out at 142km/h.
The closest weather station for this region is at Ballyhaise, where Met Éireann says the highest recorded gust was 62 knots, or 114.8 km per hour - or 69 kms per hour less than the strongest wind.
