A Monaghan disability centre has received a shining report from HIQA inspectors.
HIQA's latest report follows an announced inspection of a local centre provided by the HSE.
HIQA inspectors visited The Arches disability centre in Co Monaghan during the month of April of this year.
The centre comprises of a one house and a one bedroom apartment, which provides care and support to five individuals with disabilities. The house is staffed by a qualified nurse and a team of healthcare assistants.
Inspectors noted that each resident had their own individual bedroom, as well as communal facilities such as two sitting rooms, a kitchen and dining room, a utility facility, and gardens to the front and rear of the property. The house is also conveniently located at a walking distance away from a large town.
Staff members had completed numerous training programmes, such as children's first training, safeguarding, first aid, and fire safety. The residents appeared happy with where they lived and also with the things they did daily. Residents also appeared to be getting along and were happy to live together. The disability centre received sixteen compliances, and just one substantial compliance.
