A Co Cavan councillor has called for improvements in hedge cutting at dangerous junctions. The issue was brought to the fore by Cllr Noel Connell at the most recent meeting of the Ballyjamesduff Municipal District. Cllr Connell said that safety issues caused by overgrown hedges "must" be addressed right across the country in order to avoid serious accidents.
According to the Sinn Fein representative a dangerous junction if of particular concern to residents of Shannow Upper between Ballinagh and Kilnaleck. Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Connell believes that something must be done, whether it's the responsibility of a farmer, landowner or the local authority.
