The Health Minister says legislators "need to catch up" with harm that is being caused on social media.
Speaking outside the Cavan Covid Vaccination Clinic this afternoon, Minister Donnelly was asked if he supports calls for anti-bullying legislation in light of the passing of Eden Heaslip by suicide.
The Minister said "supports need to be in place for people who are struggling with their mental health".
He added that there is a "serious problem with social media" and says the government needs to "intervene" to "protect younger people from some of the really nasty stuff that happens online":
