Irish HomeCare opened its new headquarters in Castleblayney this week. The organisation employs 70 people across Cavan and Monaghan and provides a total of 700,000 hours of homecare across the country every year.
Minister for Social Protection, Heather Humphreys officially opened the new state of the art facility in Castleblayney. Speaking to Northern Sound, Minister Humphreys paid tribute to the work of local caregivers across Cavan and Monaghan.
While it can be difficult for people to access the care service due to staffing and resources at present, Minister Humphreys said she was committed to working with organisations such as Irish HomeCare in order to attract more people into the sector.
"It's great that there's 70 people working in Castleblayney and the new offices are beautiful," explained Minister Humphreys. "It's a service that is very important."
