Drivers are being warning of hazardous conditions on the roads this morning due to snow and ice.
A Status Yellow alert came into effect last night for the entire country, with many areas experiencing showers of hail, sleet and snow overnight.
Met Eireann says the warning's due to expire at midday.
Meanwhile, it will be windy for the rest of today in fresh to strong and gusty southwest winds.
There will be outbreaks of showery rain which will be heavy in places but will clear southeast.
It will be cold tonight with clear spells and scattered wintery showers of snow, sleet, hail and rain.
Isolated thunderstorms are also expected.
