Gyproc says it's committed to open communication regarding planning for a new mine in Magheracloone.
Last month, Saint-Gobain Mining submitted plans for a new community centre and an open cast mine in the area.
On Saturday, the Drumgossett-Knocknacran Residents Group held a day of action to voice their opposition to the expansion of mining operations.
In response to the action day, Gyproc released a statement to Shannonside Northern Sound saying it is "committed to engaging in open dialogue" with residents about their plans.
It said information events have been held to address questions and concerns.
A spokesperson said "careful consideration" was given to the mining aspect of the application and if approved, water and air quality as well as vibrations and noise will be controlled using best practice.
The statement ended by saying that any member of the community with queries on this should contact them.
Magheracloone Community Centre committee also released a statement saying it believes the new facility will be a "focal point", and that a community vote shows a strong desire to see the development proceed.
